BRENDA MITCHELL, Co-Producer

Brenda is a small-town native Texan. She produced her son’s first short, Redemption and is an executive producer on Somebody Up There Likes Me and Ice Breaker. Her deep desire to preserve the story of Austin’s legendary dance hall, the Broken Spoke, inspired her to direct her first documentary, Honky Tonk Heaven, which premiered at SXSW 2016 and won the Audience Award for music-inspired documentaries. Brenda, her husband and grown children live in Austin and spend many happy days at their ranch in the Texas Hill Country, also home to grass-fed miniature Herefords, free-range chickens, a small organic farm and thriving native wildlife.
